Hotel Sacher was founded in 1876 by Eduard Sacher, the son of Franz Sacher, who famously created the Original Sacher-Torte in 1832 for Prince von Metternich. After Eduard’s death in 1892, his wife Anna Sacher took over management, further enhancing its reputation for elegance and hospitality.
